Do you find yourself waiting for the “perfect” day before leaving the
dock confidently?
Is there someone else aboard your boat who can maneuver and navigate in an emergency?
Does your crew understand the limitations of the vessel that you are jointly trying to dock?
Have you tried to learn from your mate … but just ended up frustrated?

A proficient boat driver is a pivotal element in any boating experience. Proficiency is a source of pride for the operator and a source of comfort and security for guests.

Waypoint Marine instructors are all USCG licensed Captains or Engineers with broad domestic and international experience. These professional mariners represent a wealth of knowledge and, more specifically, are all individuals who exhibit a special talent for being able to patiently and effectively convey that knowledge.

Personalized instruction is done aboard your vessel with as few or as many support personnel as desired. If you normally boat as a family we encourage all members of the family to take part. Docking, close quarters maneuvering and anchoring are all team efforts. These boating exercises go much smoother when performed by a couple or a group of people who know boat handling. Individuals who understand the effects of current and wind and who understand the maneuvering capabilities of their boat are much better crew who will generally anticipate their next duty without input from the bridge.

Waypoint Marine has worked closely with the marine insurance business in designing our training regimes. If you are specifically seeking the training required by your underwriter, be assured that we can meet their criteria.
